The week kicked off with news that Lady Gaga was actually CUT from a big movie—the Muppets movie! She was slated to make her big screen debut in the flick, but the producers were forced to cut a ton of scenes and Gaga’s was one of them, along with Katy Perry’s! An PSA came out this week featuring Gaga talking to high school students in Toronto about Anti bullying. (clip from PSA) DJ White Shadow did a new interview with MTV talking about Gaga’s upcoming tour! He said she’s hard at work already prepping for it, and it will kick off in 2012. He also mentioned that Gaga is writing new songs for her next album already! Can you say workaholic? Gaga did her own interview that came out this week with the famed Vanity Fair, and the part everyone is talking about is her comments about men. She said quote, I date creative people. And I think that what intimidates them is not my purse; it’s my mind.” Truth!!! A year-end list surfaced this week from Bing, naming Gaga one of the most searched artists this year at number 5. “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life” is a song written by Michael Cleveland for R&B–New Wave–dance group Indeep. It features vocals from Reggie and Rose Marie Ramsey, and its protagonists recall how they were bored to death until a DJ played a hot song and saved their lives by giving new energy to the night. The song was released as a single in 1982 and became the most popular and successful hit released by its record label, Sound of New York/Becket Records. In the US “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life” reached number ten on the R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart and number two on the Club Singles chart, and it peaked at number thirteen in the United Kingdom. The track appears as the third track of the namesake album released in 1983.
