Less Than Jake interview JR the saxophone player from the band Less Than Jake sat down this past weekend in Philadelphia and spoke to me about their new album GNV FLA. Their new album is named after the airport abbreviation codes for Gainesville, Florida. JR talks about the business side of the band and their new record label. Less Than Jake jumped to and from major labels over the last decade and finally decided to start their own record label and hold onto control of all music, merchandise, and live shows. The interview runs just under thirty minutes, but the points he talks about are very important for anyone who is in an independent band. Less Than Jake have been together doing their music for over fifteen years, and expect to see them for at least another fifteen to come! The video includes live performances of Does The Lion City Still Roar, Johnny Quest Thinks We’re Sellouts, and All My Best Friend Are Metalheads.
