Raze- Jack The Groove (HOUSE)

1986 Grove St. Records. Raze later did the highly successful “Break 4 Love”, which originally came out on this small, New Jersey, independant House Label in 1987. It later came out on Columbia Records in 1988. I thought I’d share one of their earlier grooves. Classic House Music!

Ultra rare House of Krazees diss track from local tape-only release from 1995. The whole tape featured disses thrown at House Of Krazees. The Intro to the tape was a modification of the “Channel 0″ track from Season Of The Pumpkin. Mr. Bones responded to this diss track on the song “Rumors” from his solo LP Sacrifice. Bio: The House Of Krazees consisted of 3 members (The ROC, Hektik and Mr. Bones). They recorded 6 albums as group: Home Sweet Home, Homebound, Season Of The Pumpkin, Outbreed, Head Trauma and Collector’s Edition ‘97. In 1997, HOK went their separate ways, Hektik and Mr. Bones became Monoxide Child and Jamie Madrox to form Twiztid on Insane Clown Posse’s record label, Psychopathic Records and the ROC went on to form Halfbreed on his own record label Virus Independent.

Stills estimates that the album took around 800 hours of studio time to record; this figure may be exaggerated, even though the individual tracks display meticulous attention to detail. The songs, except for “Woodstock”, were recorded as individual sessions by each member, with each contributing whatever was needed that could be agreed upon. Young does not appear on all of the tracks, and drummer Dallas Taylor and bassist Greg Reeves are credited on the cover with their names in slightly smaller typeface. Jerry Garcia plays pedal steel on “Teach Your Children” and John Sebastian plays mouth-harp on the title track.
