If an American record label signs a foreign artist, can he get a work visa?

Is there some type of visa for musicians. For example, if a record label is interested in an artist, and they end up signing him, can the artist get some sort of work visa. If he can then how long does it take for a visa like that to be approved and what is the process. Also, if it is possible, is the process for the visa different for an artist under 18 than over 18, and if there is a difference, could you explain the differences. Would really appreciate your help.
