Toby Keith will launch his American Ride tour with Trace Adkins on June 19 in Holmdel, N.J. Sponsored by Ford F-Series, the 39-city tour concludes on Sept. 25 in Boston. Keith’s record label, Show Dog Nashville, merged with Universal South Records in 2009 to form Show Dog-Universal Music.

Money can be generated by the artist through music sales but this revenue is never going to be very high until the band has loads of fans! Usually the actual recording will cost more than the sales revenue so there is no spare money to pay for other things. Without considering a record label as an option (we want to go it alone, we don’t believe in labels) what other ideas do people have for generating enough money for the primary purpose of funding a trip to play gigs abroad?
