Bad Religion – Cease (album version with lyrics)
Jan 28, 2012 Atlantic Records
Bad Religion – Cease Atlantic Records Picture from: www.flickr.com ——————————– This is probably my favourite Bad Religion song, but I couldn’t find and good YouTube videos of the album version. The acoustic versions are pretty good, but this one’s way better if you ask me. So I made this video and threw in the lyrics because I’m just so nice. In retrospect, the background picture I used doesn’t make the text highly readable (especially with Youtube quality video), but it’s a cool picture so hopefully it doesn’t get in the way too much. I also think the text cuts away a bit too fast in a few spots, but there isn’t a lot I can do about that without having it out of sync with the music. I’ll put the lyrics here in the description, too. Enjoy. ——————————– Blacktop pavement cover me. Like a chemical reaction or a steamroller. Spreading randomly. There’s a distant buzz and low frequency. It tickles my ear and rumbles under my feet and it shakes the leaves off of every tree. Violently. What pretension! Everlasting peace. Everything must cease. Institution on the hill. Like a beacon in the mind of an ancestor to ignite a people’s will. There’s a shadowed stain on the west facade. It has spread like decay to enshroud the fraud. And the descendants find it oh so odd. Oh, so odd! What pretension! Everlasting peace. Everything must cease. Grave memorial, hewn white stone. Like a comforting caress of a mother or a friend you’ve always known …
