For more episodes of Rehearsal Space, weallmakemusic.com Alain Macklovitch aka A-Trak began his music career in Montreal at the age of 13. Influenced by his older brother David (of the band Chromeo), he began scratching records on his father’s turntable. Before long, his DJ battles became the stuff of legend, culminating in A-Trak winning the DMC World Championship when he was just 15 years old. Since then he’s accumulated numerous awards and has found success both as a DJ and a producer. In this episode of Rehearsal Space, A-Trak discusses the pros and cons of being Kanye West’s tour DJ and the appeal of combining hip hop and club music. He also explains how Apple’s Logic Studio gives him the control and the tools he needs to create music at home. Despite all of his successes, A-Trak doesn’t look backwards. He’s too busy working on his debut album, running his record label Fool’s Gold, producing tracks for Kid Sister, and planning what’s next.

A-trak is so sick

Hmmm, I just gotta beg to differ on atrak with the logic tip. Logic is not remix friendly and if you do so you’re gonna have to do the edits separately for every part. Its great for starting something from scratch and amazing for recording but not my cup of tea, or at least, not worth the hundreds of dollar imo.
