lol.. yeah, some ppl just get a wild hair up their ass whenever anybody says anybody sounds like anybody, but i wasn’t saying she was ripping off siouxsie – i just meant their VOICES sound alike.. my mom sounds exactly like her sister on the phone – it doesn’t mean they’re ripping off each other’s “sound”, it’s just a FACT that they sound alike.. obviously some ppl are just too “special needs” to grasp the concept. lol.

I hear a lot of PJ in her and Nick Cave, and Siouxie too. She’s definitely something unique, but her voice has a certain quality that reminds me of them. If someone said I looked like Giselle Bunchen, I wouldn’t say, “No I don’t, I’m very original!” I would say, “why thank you, I don’t see it myself, though.”

That’s strange because the only thing I hear is Anna Calvi. She’s not Siouxsie, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, PJ Harvey or Nick Cave. She’s Anna Calvi. It’s beyond me people have to compare her to 304893 other artists despite the fact she is very original. No wonder she’s annoyed when she hears she’s just like PJ over and over again…
