No chance being played on air? This was played on trainspotters mobile disco Leadsborough FM

That still doesn’t detract from the fact that a song has NO CHANCE of playing on air if it’s over the dreaded 4 minute mark. So how do you know the Artist didn’t want to extend this track? The last track to be played on Radio that was over the 4 mins mark was “Frozen” by Madonna & “Earth Song” by MJ. And they were cut on the 2nd day of release. And those 2 were musical giants. I’m not talking about protraction. Art needs “total freedom to express” to be Art. Not loads of rules for profit margin.

The artist felt like this enough for this track you can’t just say “Oh, there should be an ambient center here” It doesn’t work like that… The song is beautiful as is. And it’s a shame that some people think that an amazing short song is made short just for profit or singles. It’s not. Art doesn’t have to be prolonged to be art…

An incredible musician. Check some of his stuff at Porcupine Tree, his most famous project.

This is FAR too short for the sake of it being played on Air. Just when I’m really beginning to seep into it, it stops abruptly. I wish they’d put this whole money obsessive rule book away when it comes to real music such as this. This song should have a nice ambient center, & an ending. Not just a sudden stop at the 3:30 mark. Such a shame that we can’t stop thinking about profits, even for an art as important as this.

The lyrics to this song are amazing

I think the song is saying that the older he gets the more he looks back at his life and is disappointed in what his dreams became or didn’t come to fruition at all. The soul and body grow old and static like bats in the attic. He is sad because of this.

On his site (SW Headquarters), Steven always put his current playlist. It’s a list of albums he’s listening at the moment (I discovered a ton of good bands by looking at it!) and at the end of each year he makes his ”Top Albums Of The Year” list. Diamond Mine finished #1 on 2011 Top Albums list! You can check out his playlist right here: swhq.co.uk
