Is there a microphone in my Scientific Atlantic DVR Cable Box that can record conversations in my livingroom?

I’ve heard from multiple sources now that these cable boxes can record conversations going on in your own home. This model has went bad on me 6x in a 2-3 year period, just wondering if I am being monitored by my cable company for some reason? To put it simply… is there a microphone in the box? The model is a SA8300DVR.
Do you have any sources or expertise in this field or is this your opinion? I don’t believe this to be very “absurd” when a plethora of companies now include backdoor access in both software and hardware products that allow the state to step in and conduct warrantless covert surveillance, a blanket violation of the 4th Amendment.

People will tell you a lot of strange and absurd things. You just need to be smart enough not to listen. No, there is no mic in it.

Ok, so now I understand why you are the way you are. I am referring to your 9/11 conspiracy beliefs….

Yes, I know first hand. Look at my profile genius. There is no microphone in the box. Your apparent idea that somehow your DVR failing is related to there being a mic shows to a normal person how strange some of your thinking is…

WoW?! Seriously? That has to be the funniest thing ever. What would your cable company want with knowing your conversations? Let’s break this down………….

They would have to pay extra money in parts and engineering to install the mics in their receivers.

They would have to pay extra money for the software and transmitting of this conversation.

They would have to pay for the technology or labor that listens to these converations

Now do you really think a cable company is willing to dish out all this money just to hear you talk? I think you should quit listening to people who have mental issues and think with your own head. It makes no sense. If the government wanted to listen in, they would have much better ways of doing it. Trust me.
